X-Rays

Overview

X rays are used by your podiatrist to help diagnose a variety of foot-related ailments. Often, foot x-rays will reveal a developing condition before it becomes painful. In other cases, x-rays are necessary to help evaluate fractures, sprains, and other sports-related injuries.
Foot X rays make it possible to check the progress of injured bones as they mend. X-rays are also useful in checking the progress of children’s feet and legs as they develop. For example, the cause of a tendency to in-toe or walk on the outside of the foot can be discovered early enough to begin an effective treatment program to help correct the condition before it becomes permanent.

You may have wondered if foot x-rays are safe. With the latest methods, equipment and safeguards, there’s no reason for anyone to be concerned. Our staff is thoroughly trained and experienced. The lowest possible exposure is used. In fact, the total exposure–even over a period of time–is little more than you normally receive from natural sources that surround you in everyday living.

In terms of cost, foot x-rays often are partially or completely covered by your insurance.  Call your insurance company to determine your benefit coverage.

Through the use of x-rays the podiatrist can help keep your feet healthy and happy for a lifetime.
